The sword was made out of layers of EVA foam which were stacked on top of each other and sanded down to reach the desired shape. Then Worbla was placed on top of the foam to create a solid outer layer and was again sanded down to reach the desired shape and remove any seams.

Once the Worbla had cooled and had been sanded I primed it with layers of gesso paint that were sanded to be smooth. Over top of that I painted the sword with acrylic paint to get the metallic blade and dark handle.

My friend requested that the blade look rust. To achieve that I put old nails into a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, and salt which caused them to rust then I sanded the rust into a container and applied it to the sword with glue. I finished the sword by using a spray sealer on it.
